The narrow outline reduces the swing weight, making it easier and faster for you to turn and fit in more critical sections without catching. SQUASH TAIL If you want a responsive board, go for the squash tail: it allows quick release, easier turns, and adds plenty of looseness to your top turns. This shape gives the tail more width and therefore more surface area. The extra surface area provides greater lift and makes it much easier to maintain speed through every section.
